October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The American Cancer Society estimates that 182,460 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed in American women in 2008 alone [1]. Support your local breast cancer awareness walks and fundraisers when they are occurring in your area. Philosophy will donate 100% of the net proceeds for the Philosophy Shower for the Cure shower gel to the Women’s Cancer Research Fund.
Bumble and Bumble will donate $1 on every purchase of Bumble and Bumble Classic Hairspray when purchased on their website (bumbleandbumble.com) or at their salon in New York City during the month of October. Proceeds will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
O.P.I. Nail Lacquer will make a donation in the amount $25,000 to Susan G Komen Foundation to support breast cancer initiatives. They are offering the OPI Pink of Hearts shade of nail color in honor of the month.
DuWop is donating a portion of the sales of the DuWop Lip Lingo Pink set that has a case with the names of some women that were inflicted with breast cancer. A portion of the sales will be donated to the Cosmetic Executives Women’s Foundation Cancer and Careers through October 31st.
