It is so much fun to see the exciting plethora of toys out there for our little children. There are learning toys to help them learn colors, number, ABC’s, shapes, and the list goes on of what the great toys can do. We seem (or at least I) want to buy them all, but can you get too many toys?
The experts say that it is good to have an assortment of toys for the baby to play with and you can get a lot of toys, as long as you do not give them to your baby all at once. Your baby can become overwhelmed with the amount of toys. Instead of giving the toys all at once, give a few toys at a time and let them play with those. You can have some smaller baskets around the house with similar type activities, such as books in one, toys that make noise in another, and so on so that when your baby wants to play you can get one basket out at a time and play with those particular toys. Plus it will be exiting for your baby when they see the “new” toys and it allows them to focus on the toys that they are currently playing with.
As an added bonus for you, there is not a big mess to clean up afterwards. So, it seems that the amount of toys you get is your discretion, but the amount that you give your baby at a time, can be too much if you overwhelm them with the amount. Small amounts at a time can help them develop their ability to focus and that is very important.
