I am in a state of Ergo Baby Heaven. I have used a few baby carriers so far with my two children but had not tried the Ergo until recently. The Ergo Baby is a baby carrier designed to help parents carry children from baby to toddler without having posture and spine issues. The baby carrier rests on your hips and the weight of your children is carried there. It is very versatile and the carrier can be used in the front, back or on the hip while letting your hands remain free to go about your daily activities.
Baby Carriers
There are several patterns to choose from classic black to Hawaiian print to red. There are also a few styles to choose from and they also have an organic line available. Accessory items are available to attach to the carrier easily with clips, like the back pack and front purse which I have used. The back pack easily clips on to the back of the carrier and molds in to the carrier. I would not have known it was there except for the fact that I placed it there.
How To Wear
One of the many things that impressed me the most with the Ergo Baby is the informational DVD that accompanied the carrier. It is included in the box and tells other parent stories and also multiple examples of people wearing the Ergo Baby. Most importantly, it shows how to wear it. It is definitely helpful otherwise I would have missed attributes of the carrier that I did not know about. The carrier is constructed well with strong seams and fabric. It is washable and soft for baby’s touch and to avoid irritation for parent who wears it. Everything is adjustable so the carrier can be interchanged between my husband and I easily while out and about. There is a padded waistband for durability and support on your lower back and hips. There is also a hood included that stores inside the carrier to be pulled out for sleeping, shade from sun, rain and also privacy for nursing.

The Ergo Baby website is very informative and helpful when you are thinking about purchasing an Ergo Baby. It is very detailed in the history of the Ergo Baby Carrier and attachment parenting. There is information from physicians on the benefits of the carrier for baby and parents spine. If you are a nursing mom, there is information here and instructions on how to safely position your child and be able to nurse easily while using the Ergo baby Carrier. Lastly, if you are interested in trying an Ergo Baby Carrier, they have a section on their website called Ergo Baby Auction. This is where people can bid on used Ergo Baby Carriers and accessories at a reduced price.
Things to Think About
There is only I thing that I need to say about the Ergo that I did not like initially. That is that I am a mom and have a post pregnancy belly. Although I have lost weight, I still am not as thin as I once was so the Ergo Baby is very snug on me. But the good news is that they offer waist extensions as at a reasonable price online. I was happy to see that and know that they had taken a larger waist individual into consideration.
I have a 20 month old daughter and this carrier is perfect for me for now and the future. I can be hands free and also still get my tasks done without leaving her behind, I take her with me. I was not sure if she would like the carrier but after a short while she does like it and does not mind being carried because she is near me. I wish I had received one of these at a baby shower with my first baby because I would only need one of these for multiple stages instead of swapping out carriers.
