My two year old loves doggies (or do-ies as he calls them). He loves the poor doggie next door to within an inch of his life and chases anyone who dares to walk their dog in front of our house. Puppy Plays the Classics is a fun new educational video that introduces kids to classical music and teaches important life lessons in a way that kids can understand.
Each adorable puppy star is introduced by name at the beginning of the video. My kids have memorized each puppy’s name and make sure to tell me the name of each puppy as they appear in the video. Puppy Plays the Classics appears on HBO family or can be purchased at puppyplays.com
Calming Entertainment
So many shows for kids are over stimulating and have no educational value. Puppy Plays the Classics mesmerizes and calms my kids. The background of classical music is relaxing and forces my kids to interpret the actions of the puppies for themselves and they absolutely love watching the puppies. As soon as the video comes down, my kids stop whatever they are doing and sit down to relax. Puppy Plays the Classics is a great way to calm kids down before nap time or to help wind them down after participating in active play.
Teach Empathy
One of the most important lessons kids can learn in early childhood is how to feel empathy. So many educational programs focus on teaching letters or numbers but they ignore emotional education. Emotional education is just as valuable as academic education, especially while kids are young and still trying to understand how to treat others.
Puppy Plays the classics does a great job of encouraging kids to feel empathy for someone else. I think that the lessons are more effective because they are taught using puppies. Most kids adore animals. The cute puppies in the video do a great job of evoking emotions and helping kids to consider how their actions affect others. It is amazing how, without using any words, Puppy Plays the Classics is able to express important emotions and life lessons. My kids are able to tell me what each puppy is feeling and empathize with what is going on.
Puppy Plays the Classics teaches important lessons about the fear of strangers, treating others as you want to be treated, and making new friends. If I’m lucky, my kids may be content to watch the puppies on T.V. for a few years and won’t start asking for a real live puppy until they are old enough to help take care of one.
