Radio Flyer’s new Turbo Turtle is one of the cutest ride-on toys I have seen in a long time. The friendly turtle with a fun racing stripe down the back of his shell and a matching racing hat is very appealing to toddlers. The bright primary colors are inviting and give this great ride-on a classic feel.
Toddler Friendly Ride On
The Turbo Turtle has a wide, gently curved seat making it easy for young toddlers to sit on it unassisted and practice their balance skills. The Turbo Turtle is much lower than most other ride-on toys, making it possible for young toddlers to climb on and off the ride-on by themselves and put their feet flat on the ground while sitting so they can stay in place once they are on.
Fun Interactive Sounds
Three large buttons on the handlebars are easy for little hands to push and play fun sounds to enhance your toddlers riding experience. Most of the battery powered toys in my house are encouraged to run out of juice quickly and we conveniently forget to replace the batteries, but the cute sounds of the Turbo Turtle make my one year old squeal with delight and do not grate on your nerves like other battery powered toys.
Caster Wheels Allow for Flexible Range of Motion
While most ride-on toys are limited to front and backwards motion, making it difficult for toddlers who are still mastering their large motor skills to turn, the Turbo Turtle rides on caster wheels. The caster wheels make it easy for toddlers to turn, ride sideways, and spin on the Turbo Turtle without feeling frustrated. The Turbo Turtle wheels ride smoothly inside and outside, so your toddler can play wherever he wants to.
From the Reviewer
Radio Flyer’s Turbo Turtle is the best ride-on toy for toddlers that I have seen on the market. The solid design doesn’t have any stickers that are going to peel off and look bad after a few months and the construction is sturdy enough to take whatever your toddler can do to it. I was unsure about the caster wheel design at first because it was something I hadn’t seen before, but after seeing how smooth the wheels are and how easy it is for even the youngest toddler to maneuver I am definitely sold on the concept. The seat is contoured perfectly to hold a toddler who is still mastering his balance and I love that the seat sits low to the ground. My one year old is delighted by the Turbo Turtle even though he has never shown any interest in his older brother’s ride-on toy. The bright colors and fun attention to detail draws toddlers in and encourages balance and large motor development.
The Radio Flyer Turbo Turtle would make a wonderful first birthday gift for a baby or Christmas gift for a toddler. With its sturdy construction, the Turbo Turtle is likely to be a ride-on that is passed down to younger siblings or friends after it is outgrown.
