Rockabye Baby Lullaby Renditions (Giveaway!)
When I think back to my youth, music is always part of my memories. Now that I am a parent, I want my child to have similar experiences that I had as a child. But there has been an obstacle when it comes to music in our house. Where they are looking for Sesame Street or farm related songs to listen to, my husband and I have been in a daze listening to their music and longing for something new.
I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect when I received the CD’s to review from Rockabye Baby. I would not consider myself a rock n’roll chick but I do know some rock songs from the radio. One of the CD’s I received was the Rockabye Lullaby Renditions of Queen which was released earlier this year. I put the CD in and pushed play and started listening. My nephew who is 6 walked in to the room and said, “This sounds like Another One Bites the Dust. Cool!” I was stunned and he was right, it was exactly like the original song and we all started singing it. At that moment it was obvious that we needed to listen to every song. The song would start and we would try to figure it out and would. The recognition is apparent and amazing that they can make such a beautiful rendition of the music that it becomes a tribute to the artist. Songs included are Bohemian Rhapsody, Under Pressure, We will Rock You, You’re My Best Friend, We Are the Champions and other favorites.
Another CD I received was the Rockabye Lullaby Renditions of Aerosmith released this month. This is the newest addition to the baby rock group. We played the CD on a short road trip we were on and my husband and I instantly began singing along to it. But best of all, my children loved it as well. It is fabulous being so recognizable to even me, who would not have owned the album but was a faithful listener to songs played on the radio. Songs included are I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing, Dude Looks Like a Lady, Walk This Way, Cryin’, Amazing and other favorites.
Rockabye Baby gave birth in 2006 to a bunch of parents who longed for the same thing I did – music that both child and parent could enjoy together. Most of the albums renditions are on punk, metal and classic rock artists and bands. The music that comes to life is from bells, vibraphones and mellotrons and represents a new, lighter version of the original song but still recognizable to the ear.

There are over 25 different artists to choose from; The Cure, Beattles, Rolling Stones, U2, Beach Boys and the Pixies are just a few to list. They also have a Christmas Rock CD with various artists in holiday songs that will sure strike a chord. They also have a sister site called Hushabye Baby Lullabies (www.hushabyebabymusic.com) for parents who are more country than rock n’ roll.
All Rockabye Baby CD’s can be purchased in their web store on online. They also offer a Rockabye Baby! Digital Download Card in Gift Package in their store. This would be a great way to share this new find of fabulous music perfect for families and have them choose what artist suits them.
Rockabye Baby Lullabies definitely rate high on my list as a baby shower item as well as some of our favorite CD’s listened to in our house.
