Word Search for your Name

This literacy activity will teach preschoolers to recognize the letters in their name. If you do not already have a word search book you can find and print word searches online. This is a great activity to do while eating at a restaurant with your preschooler. Most restaurants provide packets for preschoolers to color that include a word search. Take advantage of the time that you have waiting for your food and teach your preschooler to recognize the letters in their name.

What You Need

A crayon or a pen
A word search (You can make one online here)
Time to spend some quality time with a preschooler

What To Do

Write each preschoolers name at the top of their word search puzzle in capital letters. Tell each preschooler the name of each letter in their name if they do not already recognize them. Have each preschooler find the letters of their name in the word search puzzle. Using a crayon or a pen, have them circle the letters in their name.
