And on documents, the software captures all of the printed text and gives it to you in searchable PDF format. You can also perform keyword searches on any scanned item to find what you need quickly and easily.

How I use Neat Receipts

If your household is anything like mine, paperwork enters on a daily basis. If I am not very careful at keeping it organized it rapidly gets scattered all over the house by my one year old. I immediately saw how Neat Receipts could come in handy to a busy mom digitizing my documents. It would not only keep it all in one place but with the intelligent text recognition makes it easily searchable and locatable for later retrieval.

I was truly amazed at how well the software recognizes the text of the documents. It is almost flawless in its extraction of correct information with regards to receipts and business cards. It is clear that it really excels at these types of projects. I have to admit that I that it probably wasn’t designed to scan in my son’s drawing but it turned that into a PDF just fine as well.

This clearly would be a great product for any busy mom looking to digitize her life. Probably the only issue I had with the product is that my husband found that it worked just as well with his piles of business cards. Now we really need two of them.
