See Kai Run Shoes for Toddlers

seekairunToddler shoes need to meet a few guidelines before I put them on my little boy’s feet. I want toddler shoes that provide developmental support, are easy to get on and off (or let’s face it they just won’t get used) and don’t look like they came straight out of a cartoon. I’m a long time fan of Eleven shoes for 3-8 year olds. Half the shoes my older kids have are Eleven (the other half are Pediped) and I’ve been very impressed at the durability of the shoes, especially as they have been passed down from one child to the next. See Kai Run is a sister company to Eleven that makes shoes for the 6 month – 3 year set and was thrilled to try out a paid of the adorable Samuel design for my little guy.

Developmental Toddler Shoe Design

samuelSee Kai Run shoes are designed to support the needs of growing feet. The flexible soles allow developing feet to move freely and the wide toe box allows little toes to wiggle as much as they want.

See Kai Run shoes meet the American Podiatric Medical Association’s high standards for foot health and functionality and have been awarded the APMA’s prestigious Seal of Acceptance so you can be confident that your toddler is getting the developmental foot support that he needs.

Durability – Are They Toddler-Proof?

brennaToddlers are tough, on everything really, but shoes seem to take the brunt of it. The Samuel shoes from See Kai Run were so cute I almost didn’t want to turn them over to my 2 year old since nearly everything he touches seems to get ruined these days. My toddler was so excited about his new shoes though that he has insisted on wearing them everywhere he goes. Like all shoes from See Kai Run, these shoes refuse to trade function for fashion. These stylish shoes can dress up a casual outfit or fit in with my toddler’s Sunday best and they are still so fast and easy to put on. The Velcro closure and wide opening make it really fast to get shoes on a toddler. This is essential to me because when I’m already wrestling with a toddler, I do not want to wrestle with his shoes as well.

The soft leather of the Samuel shoes has held up beautifully despite the abuse my 2 year old has given them. The suede base of the shoes has proven to be extremely washable (even after having strawberry jam and barbeque sauce spilled on them). The soft leather on the toe of the shoes has scuffed a bit but to be honest, I haven’t known any shoe to be able to withstand my 2 year old. He’s a rough kid and even though I’ve worked in the early childhood field for years, I’ve never met another child like him. In the defense of the shoes, it did take running (and scraping the shoes) on cement several times before they showed signs of wear and they still look fabulous overall.

Toddler Style

violetSee Kai Run shoes have such a great assortment of styles. It took me several days to finally decide on the Samuel style because they were all just so cute.

The new Smaller line offers the same great style as the See Kai Run and Eleven lines for kids ages 0-24 months and you cannot get any cuter than those. When it comes to style, the shoes, quite simply, speak for themselves.
