New 2010 Kelty FC Child Carrier Backpacks

KeltyHome2

As a father of three boys, I struggle with the multitude of feminine-looking children’s products.  I understand that many moms want to carry a flowery diaper bag but what happens when I am watching the kids?  That is why I am in love with Kelty’s new 2010 FC Child Carrier backpacks.  These backpacks are purpose-built by a company that specializes in camping backpacks and other outdoor equipment.
Kelty states “Go ahead, explore with the whole family. The Kelty FC frame child carrier sports supportive, durable features to venture out on the trails with your little one.”  Certainly this product is wonderful for the trail but this product is perfect suited for anywhere that you need to take your child. I have visions of substituting it for a stroller in airports and shopping malls.
The new 2010 models have several improvements to make them the most adjustable and comfortable child carriers Kelty has ever produced.  A new waistbelt torso length adjustment creates a custom fit for parents of any size providing a quick and easy adjustment when transferring between husband and wife.  This new adjustment is also unique amongst the competition in that it lowers the child as well, creating a better center of gravity.

There are three models currently available now exclusively through REI.  All models include the new waistbelt torso adjustment along with their patented self-deploying kickstand which extends automatically upon removing the backpack from your shoulders in order to make loading and unloading easy and safe.  They also include a ventilated cockpit and five-point adjustable harness.

The budget friendly FC 1.0 is priced at an MSRP of $149.95 and includes 950 cubic inches of storage space for items such as snacks and diapers.  The FC 2.0 is at $199.95 and expands the carrying capacity to 1150 cubic inches by adding a second cargo area under the child’s seat.  The top-of-the-line FC 3.0 is priced at $249.95 and adds a sun/rain hood and changing pad in addition to the extra cargo capacity of the FC 2.0.
