Healthy Home Starter Kit Giveaway from Seventh Generation (Closed)

Congratulations to Sharon Seneker. Sharon is the winner of the Healthy Home Starter Kit Giveaway!

millionWe are all trying to live a little more GREEN, lessen our carbon footprints, but sometimes it is difficult to know what is really worth it. I will admit that I was completely skeptical about this whole surge of Green cleaning products. Just about every cleaning product you can think of is available in a form without the harsh chemicals and toxins that are supposed to be better for the environment and for our families. But that little voice in the back of my head kept saying – “It’s not going to clean the same!” So when I was asked to give the products from Seventh Generation a try, I was pleasantly surprised to be taken to Seventh Heaven!  These products are not only up to par, some of them work better and there is the added bonus of saving the environment and being health for our families.

My Fave Products

I received the entire Healthy Home Starter Kit and set straight to work cleaning up my house.

  • The kitchen cleaner is amazing – I used it to clean that gunk that was on my wall/ceiling above my stove and it cleaned it right up.
  • The Toilet bowl cleaner is impressive – I just put it in the bowl swished my brush a few times and got a sparkle!
  • The All-Purpose cleaner is incredible – it cleaned up red Sharpie from my hardwood floor that had been there for three weeks because nothing else would clean it up.
  • The Glass & Surface Cleaner  is super – it cleaned my mirrors and picture frames without leaving any streaks and the Brown Paper Towels didn’t leave any lint behind!

The No Fumes Claim is No Joke

I don’t know if you ever get a headache from the fumes while cleaning your house, but I always did and these products don’t overwhelm in the slightest. And they all smell great! Lavender, Cypress, Mandarin Orange, Fir and Ruby Grapefruit scents filled my house to make add to the “clean” feeling.

The Million Baby Crawl

One other thing that I am always cautious about when trying new cleaning products is how it will affect my little ones. I have three boys under 5 and they are all over my house. My youngest is newly walking and still crawls occasionally so he gets his hands all over the floors and then in his mouth. Since all the Seventh Generation products are natural I don’t have to worry about him getting sick from my clean floors.

Seventh Generation needs your help making our nation’s outdated chemical law tougher, in order to make the world safer for our children. Join us in spreading the word about the Million Baby Crawl to help educate and empower parents to raise their voices for stronger standards on toxic chemicals.

All told, I was very impressed with the quality of the Seventh Generation products and it is always great to know that your everyday chores can support a cause like protecting the environment.  So now is your chance to win your own Healthy Home Starter Kit which includes all these products in a convenient reusable tote bag:

  • Kitchen Cleaner – Our Wild Orange & Cedar Spice cleaner tackles even greasy cooking surfaces and smelly garbage cans with ease.
  • All-Purpose Cleaner – Cleans and degreases hard surfaces, indoors and out. Non toxic, it creates no harsh fumes. Safe for your family and the planet, great for wet mopping; not recommended on wood floors.
  • Glass & Surface Cleaner – Effectively cleans glass, mirrors, chrome and other hard surfaces – without streaks, toxins, fumes or harsh chemicals.
  • Shower Cleaner – Green Mandarin & Leaf daily-use shower spray prevents soap-scum buildup, mold and mildew without harsh fumes or toxic agents.
  • Toilet Bowl Cleaner – Compare our Emerald Cypress & Fir Toilet Bowl Cleaner to your cleaner. You’ll love the change! Cleans and deodorizes without harsh fumes, harmful chemicals, aerosols or dyes.
  • Tub & Tile Cleaner – You’ll love our Emerald Cypress & Fir Tub & Tile Cleaner. No harsh fumes. Refreshing spa scent makes bathroom cleaning a pleasure!
  • Brown Paper Towels – These unbleached, 100%-recycled towels clean up spills fast! No dyes or fragrances; 120 two-ply sheets per roll.

I made a crawler named Cecilia in a yellow onsie. I think the Million Baby Crawl campaign is a good way to call attention to the number of harmful chemicals in our everyday cleaning products.

I joined the Million Baby Crawl. My baby is named 17765…not the most interesting name, I know.
I think this is a good idea to get some dialogue going about chemical safety in the products we use.

My crawler is in a lilac/purple diaper and I named him Ben. I love the whole concept, it’s so clever, and really makes people aware of the need to keep toxins away from their families.
