Aunt Flo is in Town!

Once you are done having babies and nursing them good ol’ Aunt Flo will come back around. And it is highly likely that it will be very different from her visits pre-baby. It may be a thousand times better or a thousand times worse. Unfortunately, you really won’t know until it happens. And once you get back to regular routine (if it ever happens) you will need to have a plan. Preparedness can go a long way to preventing an embarrassing mishap.

Keep on Trackin’

Although you might not need to be tracking your ovulation any longer you should still keep track of your cycles. You probably already know how many days your cycle is (if not, you need to figure it out.) You can use a calendar to track your cycle for a few months to determine the length. The cycle starts with the first day of your period and ends the day before the first day of your next period. On average, most woman have a 28 day cycle but a few days plus or minus is not strange. If you have an estimated couple of days that your period will likely start you can be more prepared for its arrival.

Emotional Side Effects

Whether you want to admit it or not, menstruation is going to have some sort of effect on your demeanor. It might make you a little snippier, or a total pushover. And kids, no matter how young, tend to instinctively notice this subtle change and use it to their advantage – where it be to get away with not making there bed or to get an extra cookie after dinner! I am not saying that you should block out the days of your period on the calendar, but rather that you should put a small red dot in the corner of the days, so that you keep it in mind. Then later if you are picking a day for an appointment you can maybe avoid that day. You can also be sure that you are equipped with the proper sanitary products so you don’t find yourself in that uncomfortable situation. You know, when some concerned woman, very sweetly, lets you know that you may have sprung a leak. Or when you have to beg hubby to stop off on the way home from work to get you some supplies.

Here is a cool product I found to carry your feminine products in style:
