Get Fit Monday – Find the Positive

A lot of getting healthy and losing weight can be very difficult and often very negative. Essentially you started in a bad place and you are trying to get to a good place. But the journey there does not have to be a negative. You must celebrate the small victories (losing 5 pounds, getting into those jeans you have been wanting to wear all year, making it through aerobics class without having the feeling of wanting to give up). You have to reward yourself for those victories (a pedi for you first 20 pounds, a new book for 2 dress sizes down). My point is that if you make it a negative trip you will never stick to it. It has to be a positive thing, because some days will definitely be harder than others and you have to keep the proper perspective. You are ultimately making your life better and what’s more positive than that??
