Second Annual Dirty Minivan Contest

I had the pleasure of meeting Wendy, of Tales from the Motherhood, through the Ultimate Blog Party and she is currently hosting her Second Annual Dirty Minivan Contest. I don’t know whether I should be proud or ashamed, but I’ve totally got this one covered. Please keep in mind, we just used this dirty minivan to move a family of 5 out of state.

The driver’s side floor is relatively clean, you know, since I need to be able to get to the pedals to drive. There are a few Costco receipts on the floor and a Walgreens coupon book left over from the holidays.

The passenger side floor is unfortunately not so clean. It is filled with all the stuff that we didn’t know what to do with as we were packing – too random to go in any box, too useful to simply be thrown away. I take full credit for the empty water bottle. The sand in the door frame is a result of our first trip to the beach once we made it here to CA.

This is the spot next to my 6 year old son’s carseat. I have no excuses for this, other than the fact that I didn’t really know it was this bad. Apparently he has decided that this space is best used as a trash can of sorts – either that or he is a genius and he decided to use the long drive to conduct a series of science experiments. Either way, it’s gross, and he will be the one to clean it up.

The passenger seat is a good place to store all the extra stuff I have laying around – like winter gloves, very useful in CA. Maybe they can be used to dig holes at the beach.

This, unfortunately, is my trunk. The stroller is standing up because there is simply no where else for it to go. The box next to it, contains a sewing machine. Doesn’t everyone have a sewing machine in their trunk?

This is the floor. I’d like to say it only looks like this in one spot but the disaster goes all the way through my car. It doesn’t appear as though my car was ever actually unpacked after the move. I’m warning you Wendy, a rubber chicken may never be seen again once it enters this mess.

Oh Rachel… I’m sooo waiting for daylight to see if my minivan can compare. My only “worry” is that sometime within the past week or so, my dh moved some of the “junk” from the back row to BEHIND it. :)
