Bugs are an essential part of summer. I have all boys so if I don’t embrace their love affair with bugs and join in . . . they are going to fill their pockets full of potato bugs and not tell me about them until after they’ve been through the wash.
My kids had LOVED doing the Insect Lore Butterfly Garden kit. My 4 year old in particular still talks about it nearly every day – he was just amazed that caterpillars could do that. Remember our butterfly release party? That has been one of the high points of their year (and they’ve been to Disneyland a handful of times already).
Several of you had a chance to try out your own Insect Lore Butterfly Garden’s through our giveaway on the site and our Insect Lore #MomStorm Twitter party.
Katie was one of our lucky readers who won a Butterfly Garden kit and she was kind enough to send us photos of her butterflies. Look how happy her kids are. I love those smiles.
Those of you who had the chance to chat with the Insect Lore crew during the #MomStorm party know that they are a friendly bunch. They just couldn’t resist giving away more insect kits to help you have a great summer with your kids. This time, we’re giving away more than just butterflies and I’m sure they’ll all be a hit.

I think it would be a tie btw. butterfly and ladybug. The kids love both.
I think we would like to try the butterfly garden because my second grader did this at school but they started to late in teh year and none of the cocoons hatched before school got out so she was very disappointed that she never got to release her butterfly.
