Giveaway – EatSmart Digital Bathroom Scale

2011 is here and if you’re joining the rest of us in our newfound resolve to lose a few pounds, the first step is to step on the scale. After all the delicious holiday food, you may have groaned a bit when you saw the number that you had to work with. Losing weight takes some serious motivation, but the right tools can definitely make the task a bit easier. The EatSmart Precision Digital Bathroom Scale may not be your friend now, but as you start to work of that extra weight, it may be the best tool to keep you heading towards your goal.

Ease of Use

I’ve owned several scales in the past and many of them calculated my body fat percentage, charted my weight loss (or gain, as the case may be), and probably calculated how many hours I spent sitting down just to make me feel bad. Truth is, all I really wanted to know was my weight. I never used most of those features and half the time they just amounted to frustration because I’d step on the scale hoping to see a weight and instead the scale would try and take me through an entire fitness assessment. Who has time for that? I could give myself a pretty accurate fitness assessment if the silly scale would just tell me what my weight was.

The EatSmart Precision Digital Bathroom Scale makes it easy to quickly, and accurately weigh yourself. I love the “step-on” technology in this that allows you to step straight on the scale without doing the “tap the scale – hope your kids don’t come in and poke the scale before it resets to zero – step on the scale to weigh yourself” dance.

The numbers on the EatSmart scale are large enough to read from a standing position, which you’d think would be a common sense feature but many other scales somehow overlook this. The surface is glass, which I was initially concerned would be slippery, especially after a shower, but I haven’t found it to be a problem. The nice thing about the glass surface is it makes the scale really easy to clean. I’ve had white plastic scales with grooved surfaces that have built up a residue over time and the grooves made it difficult to really clean completely. With the glass surface, you can use a basic glass cleaner and wipe it down, keeping it looking nice and preventing bacteria growth.

  6. I have an old-style cheap scale, and I have to step on and off and adjust it again and again to get any kind of consistent reading. When every pound lost is a step towards success, you need to know if what you’re doing is working.

  7. An accurate scale will tell me if I really have lost or gained weight.. nothing worse than being told you lost weight and then going to the dr. and finding out your scale was wrong and you havent or worse youve gained…
