Giveway – Okkatots Depot Diaper Bag for Spring Travel

Okkatots For something so little, babies sure require a lot of extra stuff. I tend to be a bit of a minimalist when it comes to baby gear but when traveling with a baby, all bets are off.

We’ve had a 5 year age gap and you really forget how many extra odds and ends you have to bring along with you when you travel with a baby. Fortunately, I had a trick up my sleeve on our last family trip — the Okkatots Depot Diaper Bag.

During our last family trip (a visit to the beach that turned into a move to the beach because, yes, we are just that crazy cool), we loaded up the Okkatots Depot Diaper Bag with all the essentials and took off.

Traveling with a baby is a challenge but I was amazed at how having everything she needed in one places simplified things. It’s become our go-to bag, not only for travel, but for day trips and as a handy way to keep the basics stocked in the car too.

Quality of the Okkatots Depot Diaper Bag

We are not gentle around my house. I have 3 boys and their baby sister had decided to do whatever she can to keep up with them. We are constantly on the go — and by on the go I mean dropping things, tripping over things, and spilling things. That means our stuff has to be durable or it gets worn out quickly. I was so impressed with the fabric used on the Okkatots Depot Diaper Bag. It’s thick and durable without losing that high quality feel, and despite the fact that we were extremely rough on this bag during (and after) our trip it still looks brand new.

I’ve had trouble with zippers falling off some of my previous diaper bags but the zippers on the Okkatots bag are super sturdy. I’ve tried tugging and pulling on them and haven’t been able to do any damage.

We did spill something on the outside of the bag and it cleaned up really well. Rubber feet on the bottom of the bag keep the fabric from being damaged as you put it down on the ground as well. I expect that this bag will hold up very well over time . . . probably long after we are past the diaper stage.

Attention to Detail

I love bags that have plenty of places to put your stuff and the Okkatots Diaper Depot Bag has plenty! I couldn’t believe the sheer quantity of stuff that I can fit in this bag. Forget packing stuff for the baby! I could fit most of my stuff in here too!

The outside of the bag has a innovative zipper compartment that can be used to store and display a portable DVD player. Our portable DVD player hasn’t gotten a lot of use since we bought iPads but I was excited to find out that an iPad (even one in a case) fits perfectly in this compartment.  Since it’s designed for a DVD player the compartment is padded nicely and does a great job of protecting your iPad.

I love the way the bag keeps all the essentials easy accessible from the outside. A convenient cell phone pouch on the shoulder strap keeps your phone within reach. The design of the straps themselves actually make the bag surprisingly easy to carry, even when it’s loaded down with stuff. The top handles snap opened and closed so they can hang easily (with the bag opened or closed) in a hotel room closet . . .or as we discovered, on a luggage cart that you’ve loaded with too much stuff.

Pouches on either side of the bag (one insulated and one not) are a great place to keep feeding supplies and snacks, again so that they are easily accessible without having to open up the entire bag.

okkatots2 The inside of this bag is amazing. You can open it up either clamshell style or like a standard backpack from the top. A little zipper on the bottom, right hand side of the bag leads to a handy compartment that stores up to 15 disposable diapers. Cloth diapers fit pretty well in here too, although you obviously don’t fit quite as many of them. I love this bag as a cloth diaper bag because of all the extra space! Just above the diaper dispenser is a spot to place a packet of diaper wipes.

There’s a nice, deep well to store just about anything you can think of behind the diaper wipe spot. I actually used this as a spot to keep my DSLR camera when we went to Disneyland so I didn’t have to carry around 2 bags. My camera was fairly well protected (especially since I padded it with diapers and clothes) and I didn’t have to worry about it falling out even when the bag was opened.

This bag really is pretty amazing. It’s large but it’s so nicely organized that you can still find all your stuff.
