I live in a house with 3 teenage boys. And when I say they eat everything, I mean absolutely everything. Not only do they eat anything they can get their hands on, like chips, every last bit of fruit, any frozen food that they can just pop in the microwave, and every granola bar that comes home from the store, they also constantly ask for wings, specifically these Mango Habanero Wings. I can’t blame them. They are amazing.
Are you dreaming of a kitchen remodel? I’m sure most of us would love to update our kitchen and get a fresh new look but the thought of planning, paying for, and making it through a big remodel is a bit overwhelming.
Fortuantely, Wellborn Cabinet is making the job a bit easier for a lucky winner. They are hosting a fantastic giveaway for a Dream Kitchen Makeover. One very lucky winner will get the kitchen of her dreams. The grand-prize winner will receive a check up to $12,000 for his or her own Dream Kitchen. Wouldn’t that be amazing?
Think of all the things you could do in your kitchen with a $12,000 budget! I’m drooling over the Wellborn Cabinet kitchen ideas and thinking how fun they would be to cook in.
With twins, everything requires a bit more planning. My twins completely flipped our lives upside down but they’ve been so much fun. Now that my twins are toddlers, their nursery needed a bit of a re-do. This gorgeous pastel nursery we created for our twins turned out amazing and has all the functionality we were looking for with two active girls.
As moms, we definitely don’t have time to be injured. Life is so busy that there’s just no time to slow down. I know my schedule leaves no time for recovering from anything, whether I’m sick or injured, so when something comes up I look for any option I can to get me back on my feet again.
The other week I did something stupid. I forgot to take the trash out. This is not an uncommon occurrence at my house (we really should work on that) but when I heard the trash truck coming down my street at 7 a.m. the next morning I frantically ran out, barefoot into the street, dragging an overly stuffed trashcan behind me and trying to beat the trash truck that was just about to pass my house.
It wasn’t a smart move.
I rolled my ankle in the process and ended up with a gigantic bruise all over the top of my food. It was so bruised that my doctor was convinced it was broken so we headed to the hospital for an x-ray. Fortunately, it was not broken, just badly bruised. The downside of that (other than having a foot that hurt like crazy every time I moved it the wrong way, was that we had a camping trip planned that weekend.
I was mostly healed by the time we were ready to leave so we didn’t cancel the trip but the light hike we did just about did me in.
My best friend and I used to constantly go to eat out after school at this little Chinese buffet down the street from our high school. Even after we graduated and went to college, we still went out once a week to catch up…at first. Then we realized how much college was costing us…and how small our budgets were.
Not wanting to give up on tradition, we decided to stay in and make our favorites at home. And we didn’t have to put real pants on to leave the house? Sold. Easiest decision of my life. A really delicious one too! This recipe for Homemade General Tso’s Chicken tastes just like our favorite takeout but you can make it for a fraction of the cost and you get to control the ingredients.
