As parents, we all know that our schools are underfunded. What would your child’s school do with an extra $5,000 – $25,000? I know there are some amazing things that my children’s schools would do with that (and I’d love to see them have the opportunity). ScholarShare and State Treasurer John Chiang just announced the Scholar Dollars grant program and it provide your local schools with an amazing opportunity!
The new Scholar Dollars program is working to support k-8 public and charter schools in California. The program is administered by ScholarShare, California’s 529 college savings plan, and will award 20 grants of up to $25,000 each to eligible CA schools. Schools that receive the grand are able to use the money to purchase new musical instruments, computers, library books, sporting equipment, or support enrichment programs.
I can’t think of a single school that couldn’t make good use of that!
