Any mom will tell you, getting a good night’s sleep is the best thing you can do for yourself (and your family). The problem is, sleep can be really, REALLY hard to come by when you have young kids. The last thing you want to do is sabotage the sleep you do get by sleeping on a mattress that needs to be replaced. Do you know how to tell if you need a new mattress?
Most of us would like to make healthier parenting choices with our kids but knowing where to start can sometimes be a challenge. With our busy lives, it’s generally easier to stick with what you know, but there are some amazing options out there to help you and your family make some healthy changes. We’ve partnered with iHerb.com to share some of our favorite healthy parenting essentials for you and some great tips for making small changes.
Our journey towards healthier parenting began when one of my sons started having some health problems. He was dealing with respiratory issues and major skin problems that left his hands and legs chapped and bleeding. It took over a year to find the source of his problems. He was sensitive to the chemicals in the products we were using in our home.
Swimming is one of the highlights of summer, but sometimes it can come with some negative side effects. Swimmer’s ear can be painful and if your kids are prone to it, summer trips to the swimming pool are a bit rough.
I have two kids who are prone to swimmer’s ear . . . they are also my most water-loving kids of the bunch, which is an unfortunate combination. Since they won’t stay away from the water, we have to get a bit creative and come up with solutions that can help prevent or treat swimmer’s ear.
We’ve discovered some great ways to do that. If you have a child who deals with swimmer’s ear, I hope these tips will make your summer a bit more enjoyable.
When I became a mom, I started getting picky about the ingredients that I used. Most teeth whitening options are not only filled with ingredients that I’m not super comfortable with, they are also rough on your enamel.
For a long time, that meant I just didn’t worry about trying to whiten my teeth.
I focused on protecting my teeth by:
Avoiding soda and sugary drinks
Brushing my teeth after each meal (as often as that is possible)
Avoiding things that may discolor teeth like coffee and limiting citrus
There’s a certain point though, when even those precautions don’t do the trick and I found myself looking into teeth whitening options.
I’ve been a huge fan of Tom’s of Maine products for years so when I found out they had created their new Luminous White toothpaste, with it’s clinically proven whitening technology, I was intrigued.
As a mom of six, including twins, bathing suit season is not my favorite. I’m a big fan of being proud of your body, in whatever state it is in. But that’s a lot easier when those parts I’m not thrilled with are a bit more covered up. After having twins, my body definitely didn’t go back to its pre-baby(s) state. I’m working on exercising more, but in the meantime, I still need a great swimsuit.
The good news is, there are some fantastic and modest swimsuits out there that can help you look and feel fantastic this summer. The right swimsuit can give you the confidence you need to get out there and play with your family . . . or even jump in a few of those family pictures.
