The holidays can be a real budget buster and that can put a serious damper on the excitement of the holiday season. The good news is, you don’t have to resort to credit cards to pay for the things on your holiday shopping list.
We have some quick and easy ways that you can earn money for Christmas without taking much time away from your family. We’ve tested each of these money making tips and they are all legitimate way to earn some extra cash.
Earn Money for Christmas with Swagbucks
The idea behind Swagbucks is simple. You use their search engine (which gives you similar results as Google) and you can be rewarded with Swagbucks. Swagbucks can then be traded in for all kinds of prizes, including my favorite — Amazon gift cards.
I’ve used Swagbucks for several years and earned hundreds of dollars in Amazon gift cards. I consider this nearly as good as having cash since I buy so many of my holiday gifts from Amazon.
One of my favorite cloth diaper stores just began offering gift cards too though and that may get me into some serious trouble. I don’t think my older kids would be pleased if I spent all their holiday Swagbucks on cloth diapers 🙂
Swagbucks may seem like they are promising more than they can deliver, but I can tell you that you absolutely can earn plenty of gift cards for Amazon and other online retailers.
How to Earn with Swagbucks
To start earning Swagbucks, you first need to sign up for a free Swagbucks account.
This takes only a few minutes and once you have your account set up you can start earning Swagbucks that can be traded in for gift cards or other prizes.
Search with Swagbucks
There are several ways you can earn Swagbucks. The easiest, and the most common method that I use is their search engine. Every so often when you search you’ll get a message that you’ve won x number of Swagbucks.
I set the search engine as my home page so that it’s easy to remember to use it. Simply using it for the internet searches I would normally be doing anyway usually earns me at least one gift card a month.
For pages I visit often, I do a search in the Swagbucks search engine and set that search page as my bookmark. That way every time I click on my bookmark link it will quickly do a search for me and give me the potential to earn some extra Swagbucks.
Earn Swagbucks by Shopping
Since I do so much of my holiday shopping online I’m always looking for ways to maximize what I get for my money. Swagbucks offers you Swagbucks for shopping at select stores so it’s a great way to earn some extra points towards gift cards. Some stores offer special incentives that give you up to 11 Swagbucks for every dollar you spend.
Print Coupons through Swagbucks
I use quite a few coupons when I go grocery shopping and many of those are coupons that I’ve printed online. Swagbucks now allows you to print online coupons through them and earn 10 Swagbucks for every coupon that you use. Thats a great deal, especially if you shop like I do and take a huge stack of coupons with you on every grocery store trip. That easily offsets the cost of printing the coupons.
Earn with Referrals
Swagbucks has a fantastic referral program that gives you matching Swagbucks for the first 1,000 Swagbucks that your referrals earn.
If you are a blogger, you can put earn referrals by putting the Swagbucks banner on your sidebar, blogging about Swagbucks or sharing your Swagbucks referral links through your social media channels.
Don’t worry if you aren’t a blogger though because you still have plenty of opportunities to earn Swagbuck referral points. Share your Swagbucks referral link on your Facebook account to let your friends know about it. Include your Swagbucks referral link in your email signature or in your signature of any online forums you belong to (just be sure that the forum rules allow that first).
Swagbucks offers several other opportunities to earn Swagbucks if you want to take the time to do that, including, taking surveys, watching videos, and trading in used items.
You can make a great dent in your holiday budget by using gift cards that you earn with Swagbucks.
