Are you starting to get excited for a new school year? I love the excitement that comes from a fresh start and my kids are getting excited to get back into a routine. One thing I’m not excited about is coming up with back-to-school snacks that both my kids and I are happy with. Fortunately, KIND Kids™ bars are the perfect solution
My older kids have, generally, not been picky eaters. My 6-year-old daughter has not followed in her brothers’ footsteps. She is more of a snacker and likes to pick at her food during mealtimes. I try to balance this out by having great snacks for her to choose from, especially when the school year is in session and I have no control over which parts of her lunch get eaten and which ones come home untouched in her lunchbox at the end of the day.
KIND Kids™ bars have been the perfect solution for her. I’ve loved the regular KIND bars for years, so I love having a great option for my kids to enjoy too. Our absolute favorite is the Chewy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip (with the Chewy Chocolate Chip coming in as a very close second).
Why do we love KIND Kids™ bars?
Finding a snack that my kids not only want to eat, but is also one I approve of, is hard. The school day is long and I want to make sure they have the energy need, both during school and after they get home. Having snacks that keep them full and give them some great nutrition is so important.
KIND Kids™ bars are made with 100% whole grains, like puffed sorghum and quinoa crisps. They are low in sugar with only 5g of sugar per bar, which is 25% less than the leading snack bar*. In our family, we try and limit sugar in snacks since kids get enough sugar with treats and special occasions, so I love having a lower sugar option.
Not only do they have some great ingredients in the bars, they also don’t include any of the things we like to avoid. They have no artificial flavors or preservatives and no genetically engineered ingredients. They are even gluten free, which makes my family happy since we have a few who avoid gluten.
My kids love the chewy texture and they are the perfect size for kids. This is one snack that won’t end up coming home in my daughter’s lunchbox at the end of the school day.
*The leading kids snack bar contains 7 grams sugar per 24 gram bar, KIND Kids™ granola bar contains 5 grams sugar per 23 gram bar.
