With 6 kids, I have a lot of electronics around my home. This includes multiple TV’s. The problem is that with 6 kids, I never have time to do many of the DIY projects that I want to around the house. One of the things on my to-do list has been to mount our basement TV to the wall and find a cleaner solution for all the cables that we have coming out of it. I’d been looking for an easy solution for a while so I was excited to come across the Legrand in wall power kit.
Do you dream of having a connected home? As a work at home mom, I’m always looking for ways that technology can help make my life easier. I was so excited to test out the Amazon Echo Show and Arlo Pro cameras and see how having a more connected home can help simplify the things I do everyday.
Working from home presents some major challenges, especially when you have young kids at home. With twin toddlers plus a kindergartner at my house right now, trying to get any work done while they are all awake can be tricky.
My office is on the main floor but it can still be hard to keep an eye on them while I work. I loved the idea of using the Arlo Pro cameras to give me “eyes on the back of my head”. Too often I’ve come out of my office to find that they have wallpapered the wall with craft glue and magazine clippings or discovered how to get the paint off the highest shelf in my kitchen.
Not only was it a safety hazard (hello little monkey children) but I don’t have the time to clean up gigantic messes every time I emerge from my office.
I was excited to see how the Amazon Echo Show and the Arlo Pro cameras could help me out.
The wife’s least favorite chore in my house has always been cleaning the floor. With 6 kids, it has to be cleaned all the time and it is a big job. When my wife and I were first married, she told me she’d do all the chores except cleaning the floor — that was my job. So I did what any good husband would do — I bought a robotic vacuum. The first model we had ten years ago was not that impressive so when Samsung offered to send me their new POWERbot r7070, I was excited to give it a try.
When I was a kid, I spent much of my summer vacation watching TV and playing video games with the occasional outside play if my parents got on my case to do something else. I became an expert at my favorite video games and other gaming enigmas (up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, start), I have yet to find where it has done me any good in the “real world”.
Luckily, today, parents have some great options for helping kids learn some “real world” skills while they are enjoying their summer vacation.
As a dad of 6, one of my favorite options at the moment is a small robot called Ozobot EVO.
I love music! I have it on all the time. Maybe it has something to do with my wanting to drown out the noise of six screaming kids but I feel it helps me focus on work while gets me pumped up to get more done.
The problem around my house is that if I put on headphones, I can’t always hear that screaming turns from a disagreement to a real emergency. That is why I have speakers scattered all over my home but that solution is far from perfect
