I absolutely love finding gift ideas that keep my kids busy and help them learn something in the process. We’ve had fantastic luck with crates from Kiwi Co. and were so excited when they sent us a Tinker Crate to review. This was a HUGE hit with my kids. They love to build things, so assembly was fun for them but they loved how creative they could get with the project once it was put together.
In a perfect world, screen time would be used only in ways that helped kids grow and develop. The reality for today’s kids, though, is most of them probably spend way too much time in front of a screen and the time they do spend is often mostly for entertainment value. I’m guilty of letting my kids have too much screen time to, but the reality is, screen time is often used to excess. Designed to create a more balanced approach to education vs. entertainment in media for kids, this program is one that both kids and parents will love.
As a mom with 6 kids attending Utah schools, it’s clear that our schools need more funding. Utah is last in the nation in per-student spending. That’s a statistic that could change with a new initiative on the ballot this year. Question 1 is proposing a ten cent increase in the gas tax in order to add $150 per-student in funding.
