The holiday season is all about baking at my house. These Chocolate Pecan Oatmeal Carmelitas are always a huge hit, and with a little help from O Organics® products from Albertsons (who sponsored this post), we can throw a batch together to share with family and friends or to enjoy as a family.
The holiday season can get so hectic. We don’t always get everything done that we want to. One thing we always make sure we have time for, though, is making holiday treats to share with friends and family.

These Oatmeal Carmelitas are always a hit during the holiday season. We always make these when we are making neighbor treat plates during the holiday season. Without fail, when we hand these out, someone asks for the recipe.
I love that these are easy enough to make that my kids can all pitch in.

My local store feels like a gathering place in my community. I always run into someone I know so it’s a fun chance to catch up with friends, while buying some ingredients for our favorite treats.
We always stock up on some of our favorites, especially O Organics 51% Cocoa Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips, because then we have the ingredients we need on-hand to do some holiday baking whenever we want to.
Oatmeal Carmelitas Ingredients
- 1 1/3 cup OOrganics flour
- 1 cup O Organics oats
- 3/4 cup firmly packed O Organics brown sugar
- 1/4 t salt
- 1/2 t baking soda
- 3/4 cup O Organics butter, softened
- 10 oz bag of O Organics chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 3/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
Oatmeal Carmelitas Instructions
Preheat oven to 350.
Using a pastry cutter, combine 1 cup of the flour (save 1/3 cup for later), oats, brown sugar, salt, baking soda and melted butter. Blend until the mixture form crumbs.
Press half the crumbs into the bottom of an 9 x 13 pan, bake for 10 min. Remove from oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips and pecans.
In a small bowl, combine the caramel or sweetened condensed milk with remaining flour.
Drizzle over the chips and nuts.
Sprinkle remaining crumbs over caramel and bake for 15-20 min.
Cool completely then cut into bars.
