This time of year, after the holidays are over and before the weather warms up, it’s easy to fall into a slump, especially when it comes to dinner. Easy comfort food recipes are a life saver for me when I don’t have the energy to put a lot of effort into cooking. Idahoan® Steakhouse® Soups taste like they have been slow cooked for hours but they can be made in only 5 minutes. Pair them with these easy (and gluten-free) cheesy crackers and you have the perfect weeknight comfort food.
I’m a bit of a lazy cook this time of year. I think it comes down to the fact that I cooked so much during the holiday season that I just want a good solid break from the kitchen.
The problem is, with the weather cooler, I still want some serious comfort food.
That’s where Idahoan Steakhouse® Soups. These are serious comfort food without all the work. They taste like they’ve been cooking for hours but they can be cooked in just 5 minutes.
The first time I made Idahoan Steakhouse® Soups for dinner, my family honestly thought I’d cooked it from scratch. They were shocked I’d taken the time to cook until I told them it was the easiest meal possible.
They come in some delicious flavors too, including Loaded Potato, Creamy Potato, Cheddar Broccoli, and Cheddar Potato. The Cheddar potato is our favorite and is so packed with flavor you’d never guess that it came from a bag.
Easy Cheesy Gluten-Free Crackers
One of the things that I really love about Idahoan Steakhouse® Soups is they are gluten-free. We have a few members of our family who are gluten-free and finding creamy soups that don’t have gluten in them can be a huge challenge.
Creamy soups are my favorite so when I cut gluten out a few months ago it was one of the things I missed the most.
We love serving Idahoan Steakhouse® Soups with these Easy Cheesy Gluten-Free Crackers. They are so simple to make and with only one ingredient you don’t have to worry about any hidden gluten.
Easy Cheesy Gluten-Free Crackers Ingredients
- Cheese, shredded
Easy Cheesy Gluten-Free Crackers Preparation
These “crackers” really hit the spot and taste so good served with a nice bowl of soup. To make them, simply shred your favorite cheese. I like sharp cheese for these but just about anything would work.
Once you have shredded the cheese, make small piles of cheese on parchment paper.
Top with cooked bacon, chopped chives, or anything else that you’d like to serve with them.
Bake at 400° for 7 minutes, or until the cheese melts.
Remove the parchment paper from your baking sheet and let your “crackers” cool.
Once cool, serve with your favorite kind of soup.
I love the combination of these crispy cheese crackers with the warm soup. After a long day, there are few things better than easy comfort food.
I’ve been pretty good about meal planning lately and I’m always relieved when I see that Idahoan Steakhouse® Soups are on the menu because I know that it’s going to be an easy night. We could all use a little less stress in our lives.
