One of the hardest parts of the holiday season is how hectic everything can get. My goal is to keep things simple so that I can enjoy the holiday season (and I don’t drive my family crazy in the process).
Christmas cards end up being a huge source of stress for me when my schedule is full. I know people love receiving them but they are just so much work.
Tips to Simplify Christmas Cards
To keep things simple, I use a few tricks.
- Take holiday photos early. Photographers book up this time of year. Save yourself a lot of hassle (and give yourself time to hunt around for deals) by taking photos early in the fall or another time of year. I actually find that I really like to have photos taken in the spring because things are less hectic.
- Use the photos you already have. Rather than stage a styled holiday shoot, use an assortment of photos that you already have. I really like to see glimpses of the year when I receive holiday cards. It’s a fun way to show the things that you have been up to.
- Consider sending digital cards. I know that it is nice to have a photo or card to put on display but if you are tight on time or don’t want too put the money into the cost of cards/photos/stamps, consider sending digital cards. You can do this through email or make a post with an update on your year on social media.
