I love the chance that a new year gives us for a fresh start and this year, with the start of a new decade, it feels like the perfect time to really make some healthy changes.
I’ve been trying to get my health back since having my twins … you know, 5 years ago … so I’ve been working on making changes to help my whole family live a healthier life.
We’ve been using a few of our favorite brands to help us meet our healthy living goals. Optimum Nutrition has protein powder that makes the best smoothies and Green Giant Veggie Hash Browns make it easy to sneak some extra veggies into our breakfast and they taste amazing.
I love to cover any gaps in nutrition so I always keep vitafusion and L’il Critters vitamins on hand to make sure we are getting the nutrients that we need.
I’m a huge fan of vitafusion because they are the only gummy vitamin brand with “clinically proven absorption”*. Having a gummy option that I trust makes it so much easier for me to take my vitamins because I’m not always a fan of swallowing vitamins in the morning.

Healthy Breakfast Menu
One of the things that makes it easier for me to make healthy choices is to set a few things on auto-pilot. I pick a few things that are the same every day and then I don’t have to think about it anymore.
One of the easiest meals of the day for me to automate is breakfast. I choose one breakfast and stick with it for the season. When I wake up in the morning I know exactly what I’m going to eat and I don’t have to think about it. it makes mornings easier and I know I have a well-balanced breakfast planned.
Having a healthy breakfast menu that everyone enjoys makes my mornings go so much smoother. We do change things up by the season but I find that when we are rotating our lunch and dinner menu we don’t get sick of a set healthy breakfast menu and it gives us one less thing to think about.
- Green Giant Cauliflower Veggie Hash Browns
- Fried egg (or hard-boiled egg on busy mornings)
- 1 serving of fruit (we rotate this based on what is fresh at the store each week)
- 1 berry banana protein smoothie with Gold Standard Whey (Vanilla Ice Cream flavor)
I LOVE the Green Giant Cauliflower Veggie Hash Browns. These are so easy to cook from frozen.
We serve these up with a fried egg and a serving of fruit. Our fruit choice doesn’t always stay the same because we go with whatever looks fresh at the grocery store that week but we’ll usually have the same fruit for several days in a row before moving on to something else.
- 8 oz of almond milk
- 1 cup of frozen blueberries
- 1/2 banana
- 2 scoops of Gold Standard Whey (Vanilla Ice Cream flavor)
- Combine all ingredients in a blender.
- Blend well.
- Serve alongside a healthy breakfast.
Having a healthy breakfast menu ready to go makes my mornings so much easier and has helped us start the new decade off on the right foot. I hope your family enjoys this breakfast menu as much as mine has.
