Disclosure: I received free services to facilitate my review, however all opinions are my own and no additional compensation was given.
For most of us, being busy is just a fact of life. Sometimes that gets a little overwhelming though, doesn’t it?
I work at home. I homeschool. I have 4 kids — 3 of which are very active, very MESSY boys. I get tired. I get stressed. And that doesn’t do much for my productivity.
When you are in the middle of things it can be hard to look around and see what needs to happen. It’s kind of a can’t see the forest for the trees kind of thing.
When I was contacted to review the services of Naked Clean, a San Diego based cleaning company that cleans with probiotics (more on that in a minute) I was thrilled. Summer is ending and I need to get back into a routine. What better way to start things fresh than with a clean house.
From time to time I’ve hired a housekeeper to take something off my plate. I’m not good at asking for help and delegating does not come naturally for me so bringing someone in to help is a stretch for me.
I can say that here because I know that most of you aren’t great at asking for help when you need it either.
In the past, when I’ve hired a housekeeper I have spent the entire day before they come cleaning. Yes, I cleaned for the housekeeper. I cleaned so I could say, “oh, sorry it’s so messy”. It’s embarrassing to show people the things you actually need help with.
This time I simply didn’t have time to clean before they came. I did some light picking up so they could get to the areas I wanted clean but with a birthday party the weekend before, family coming into town, and everything else I had to deal with I just didn’t have time.
The ladies from Naked Clean came in and got my house cleaner than it has been since we moved in — and I can not even tell you what that has done for my stress relief.
We moved in January so I still have a lot of decluttering to do. I’ve been so preoccupied with the everyday cleanup that I haven’t had time to get to that. Naked Clean got all that out of the way for me so I could work on the things that I couldn’t delegate. I had them tackle the deep cleaning in my bathrooms and kitchen that I just honestly didn’t want to deal with. They jump started my progress again and my house has been getting more organized each day since they came.
Cleaning with Probiotics?
I usually clean with vinegar and water. I have a son with asthma and all my kids have sensitive skin so I’m hesitant to use harsh cleaners. In the past when I’ve hired a housekeeper I felt like I couldn’t let my kids into the house until I aired everything out for a few hours.
Naked Clean uses something a bit different when they clean. They clean with probiotics and it works in almost the same way that yogurt does on your gut. The good bacteria pushes out the bad. Since they were cleaning with green cleaning products I didn’t have to worry about my kids being in the house during or after the cleaning. There was no harsh smell. The only smell I noticed was a light citrus scent that came from the citrus oil in their degreaser and it just made the whole house feel fresh.
Here’s what Naked Clean has to say about it:
Our probiotic cleaners are specially formulated as an safe organic green cleaner, which can reduce the germs in your home by as much as 86%. But wait, you say. We’ve all heard the advertisements that some toxic cleaner kills 99.99% of germs, right? So why is only 86% a good thing? Well, that can be answered in two ways: First, it is not toxic, which is good. Second, probiotic cleaning is not killing 99.99% of the “good” germs which we need in order to have a healthy balanced environment. You see, whenever you kill 99.99% of the germs, you are also killing the other 99.99% of the good bacteria. So when you kill all of the good and bad bacteria at the same time, you have just set the stage for SUPER BUGS to thrive. Without good (microbes) germs around there’s nobody to defend you against the super bugs.
I had honestly never heard of cleaning with Probiotics before my visit with Naked Clean but I’ve loved the results and the science behind it makes sense to me.
Special Offer for San Diego Locals
I was thrilled with the way my house looked after Naked Clean finished with it and after realizing how affordable their prices are (they came back with a bid of only $75 a month for my house) I’m seriously considering making it a permanent arrangement.
If you are local to San Diego, Naked Clean is offering $40 off a cleaning for mentioning Busy Mommy Media. This would be a great way to start fresh for the school year!
Have you ever hired a housekeeper to reduce your stress level?
