This post is part of a compensated campaign with TRANSFORMERS and the Mom It Forward Blogger Network. As always, all opinions are my own.
My kids have been seriously into transformers since they made their reappearance in the stores a few years ago. This may have something to do with the fact that my husband was obsessed with them as a child and had fun collecting all the Transformers that he didn’t have growing up. We still have a collection of “kids” Transformers and “Dad’s” Transformers. It’s a real treat for my kids when they get to play with Dad’s stash of toys.
As my kids have written their Christmas lists this year, one toy appeared on all of them — Transformers Construct-Bots. Construct-Bots are the Transformer characters your kids love in a fun new building platform. Kids can create the build the character themselves or create something unique on their own.
My 6 and 8 year old little boys were more than happen to test it out for us.
My 8 year old took the lead and pulled out the instructions to figure everything out. I just sat back and watched as they worked. The instructions were very clear for my kids to follow. They had a bit of trouble snapping a few pieces in but they kept at it and made it work. I liked that the pieces fit together tightly because I know there’s less of a chance that I’m going to find little pieces on the floor (or have to listen to my kids freak out that they are missing a piece).
It was very serious business there for a while. My kids were so excited by the results and immediately started looking at the back of the package to see what other characters were in the collection. They both have a few that they are hoping to find under the tree this year.
Of course as soon as it was put together my kids decided to take a little creative license and move the pieces around. They had a blast arranging things and I thought they were much less frustrated than the regular Transformers because once they forget where to move the parts it takes a while to figure it out again.
Each Construct-Bot transformers from robot to vehicle mode without taking the pieces apart and my kids LOVED that. The parts are also interchangeable so if you have more than one you can mix the pieces together and develop a crazy new Transformer of your own.
I’m sure there will be a few more of these under our tree Christmas morning. In the meantime, this little guy is having a lot of fun fighting with the rest of our Transformers collection.
