Starting solids is always an adventure and this time I have 2 babies discovering food at the same time. It’s been interesting for sure but one of the biggest challenges has been keeping them contained while they eat. Now that my twins are 7 months old they are big enough to sit at a booster seat at the kitchen table and I love that option, especially since Creative Baby has come out with an adorable new booster seat. The World of Eric Carle Happy & Hungry Booster seat is fun and practical so I was thrilled when they offered to send one for us to test out with the twins.
I have two full sized high chairs but I hate having them clutter up my kitchen so half the time I keep them on my patio. With my other kids, my preference has always been to switch them to a booster seat at the table as soon as they are ready. I do that for a couple of reasons.
- Booster seats take up a lot less space. That’s a big deal, especially when you are dealing with two babies like we are at my house.
- Booster seats are usually easier to clean. I HATE cleaning full sized high chairs. The Creative Baby booster seat is so easy to clean. The cushy pad lifts right up and the booster tray comes apart easily for cleaning.
- I like having my babies right up at the table with the rest of the family. Dinnertime is such a huge bonding experience. I love being able to pull my babies up close. You can remove the tray from the Creative Baby booster and push it right up to the table which is perfect for family dinners.
We love “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” at our house. It’s been one of our favorite books since my oldest son was little so the design of the Creative Baby booster was a huge hit with us. The padded seat is washable — a must when you are mixing babies with food. The detachable tray has a removable insert with a cute little graphic. My older boys laughed when they read it though and said, “since when are hungry babies happy!”. They’ve figured out how babies work with so many little siblings around!
The first time I put one of my twins in this booster seat she squealed. She’s a real fan of eating. Her sister, on the other hand, hasn’t quite realized how amazing food is. She’s more interested in playing with it.
We’ve been very happy with the Creative Baby “Very Hungry Caterpillar” booster. It’s cute and functional and will definitely get a lot of use around my house. You can find The World of Eric Carle Happy & Hungry Booster seat, at Burlington Coat Factory. For more info be sure and like Creative Baby on Facebook and follow them on Twitter.
