Toddler Style on a Budget #WalmartBaby

Thanks to Walmart & Healthtex for sponsoring this post!

Toddlers grow so quickly that sometimes it feels like they only wear an outfit once before they outgrow it. With twin toddlers, that’s doubly hard . . . especially since I think they look so cute in matching outfits.

Toddler Style on a Budget

Since I’m buying double the clothes, I really look for ways to save money. The clothes have to be cute, though, right? Toddler girls have to have standards.

Toddler Style on a Budget

I have a few tricks I like to use to save money on toddler clothes that help me stock their closet without breaking the bank. I’m not willing to spend hours and hours hunting down a deal either so all of these are things you can do without devoting a lot of time.

Shop in the off-season

I’m always buying clothes for the next season. As soon as winter clothes go on clearance I buy the size my twins will be wearing for the following winter. I’ve found brand new clothes for $2-$3 a piece so I can get an entire wardrobe for them for a fraction of the price I’d spend otherwise. Walmart already has some great winter clearance clothes on their website.

Ask for hand-me-downs

I have no problem with hand-me-downs but I definitely don’t have the time to devote to shopping garage sales. Let your friends and family know that you love hand-me-downs. I’ve found people often just donate old clothes because they feel awkward offering them to friends so if you let them know you won’t be offended you’ll probably end up with way more clothes than you need. I had a neighbor who used to pass on huge box of clothes to me every few months. I didn’t have to buy any kids clothes for years. It was awesome.

Find quality, lower-priced brands

Some brands definitely cost more than others and, especially with kids growing out of clothes so quickly, the high-end brands don’t usually make sense. Find some lower-priced brands that you love. When I realized my twins were down to a bare-bones wardrobe, we headed over to our local Walmart to check out the section of Healthtex clothes they had. My twins love walking around the store so they were more than happy to tag along.

Healthtex has some great classic styles and they are really affordable. I love that it I can spend less money on clothes and more money on some fun things.

We snagged some adorable dresses and a few extra outfits for under $25. You can’t beat that!

Look for Basics

Few things drive me as nuts as buying a really cute outfit and having my toddlers only wear it a few times before they outgrow it. It’s such a waste of money! I love looking for good basics that can be worn over and over again. A great pair of jeans can be paired with any number of shirts. I have two pairs of jeans my twins have been wearing for a few months and they get so much use that they are actually starting to wear out. That’s crazy for toddler clothes! They seriously wear them all the time. Basic solid colored shirts can be paired with cute leggings.

How adorable! The toddlers are so cute. My child also loves to go shopping. Every time she goes to shopping mall with me, she wants to try on a lot of clothes.
