When you find a company that hires you as an employee, it is a great find since the company will withhold all of the taxes and may offer benefits like health insurance, retirement plans and other perks.
One disadvantage of working from home is that most companies hire you as an independent contractor. You are responsible for paying you taxes, Social Security, setting up a retirement plan, and health insurance. You really need to set aside a percentage of each paycheck so you have the money to pay your taxes in April.
Take a look at the Apple work at home position; you are hired as an employee.
